The Delivery Magazine has published Iqubal Pannu (AEB UK GM)  in their print issue in January 2012 with the article "Effective Freight Cost Management – a way to deliver significant savings". The article explains how supply chain managers are facing the challenge to keep freight costs down while managing the payment process in a fair and transparent way for all parties involved. Pannu explains the savings that can be achieved by deploying an automated freight invoice control system, which frees up manpower and detects every single invoice discrepancy without effort.

01/2012: Food & Beverage International: AEB reports successful implementation of EMCS solution at Marston's

Food & Beverage International has published the press release announcing that Marston's is using AEB's EMCS solutions on 9th January 2012. With AEB’s EMCS||XPRESS, Marston’s is now using an easy-​to-​use web-​based software solution that makes submitting and tracking EMCS movements simple and affordable and doesn’t require any investment in IT infrastructure. The system went live in May 2011 and currently serves 24 users. EMCS||XPRESS is an online solution for participating in EMCS, ideal for both the quick discharge and the convenient submission of e-​ADs.

Works Management has published the AEB/ERBE success story in their October 2011 issue in their publication "Automation lifeline for medical equipment manufacturer". ERBE Elektromedizin GmbH is developing, producing and distributing medical technology for electrosurgery and waterjet surgery as well as equipment and accessories for hemostasis, tumor removal and minimally invasive operations. 10/2011: ITM: Prepare for EMCS Phase 3 (FS2) with EMCS||XPRESS from AEB

The International Trade Magazine has published Claire Umney, General Manager of AEB (International) Ltd. in their Sep/Oct 2011 issue with the article "Prepare for EMCS Phase 3 (FS2) with EMCS||XPRESS from AEB.  The article recaps the Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) which went live in its first phase in April 2010 and the second phase in January 2011.  Companies moving excise goods that have not yet been released for consumption within the EU are required to use this system and AEB offers a user-friendly SaaS solution for convenient and efficient processing.

10/2011: Supply Chain Digital: Supply Chain Excecution goes Mobile

Supply Chain Digital has published Claire Umney's (GM AEB UK) article  "Supply Chain Execution goes mobile" in their October 2011 issue as well as in their October newsletter distribution. Umney elaborates on the use of smartphone in the supply chain industry, which is no longer limited to quick status checks and to trace a shipment, but has evolved to include applications that enable e.g. processing of workflow steps as well as interventions in case of supply chain disruptions.  Though smartphone will not replace supply chain systems, they've become an integral part of modern supply chains.

The Wallstreet Journal has published Phil Lavin's article "The Hidden Risks in the Supply Chain" on their website www.supplychainriskinsights.com in October 2011. Globalisation has created complex supply chains, requiring diligent collaborative management of the numerous contributors and partners: from the actual sales process to final acceptance, procurement, distribution, fulfilment and final payment. 09/2011: Warehousing & Logistics International: New Authorized Exporter and AEO permits require sanction lists screening - AEB has the solution

Warehousing & Logistics International has published AEB's press release on AEO and Authorized Exporter news including promotion of AEBs upcoming Compliance online demo series in their 26th September newsletter. The press release describes how companies wishing to retain their permits for simplified customs procedures will need to submit a completed questionnaire by the end of the year to the authorities. This questionnaire is similar to the one for AEO C application, so businesses should consider going for both, AEO C and Authorized Exporter status. The publication also introduces AEB's Compliance campaign to raise awareness for Export Controls, including the upcoming C||X online demo series.

Warehousing & Logistics International has published in their summer edition AEB's recent UK management change press release. Effective 1st July 2011, Claire Umney has assumed the role of General Manager of AEB (International) Ltd in Leamington Spa, while Mark Brannan has moved on to the corporate role of International Business Development Director. Claire’s business development plan includes expansion of current staff levels, a significant increase in UK market share and further establishing local brand recognition, and Mark's  global responsibilities will focus on developing new markets, key accounts and partner networks worldwide.

07/2011: IFW: Round-Table Report on Improving Supply Chain Security

In Spring 2011, IFW organised a round-table discussion on the topic "Improving Supply Chain Security" and the report has now been published in July 2011.  Taking part of the discussion were representatives from the Freight Transport Association, the Road Haulage Association, SBS Worldwide, Boxtrade Intelligence and Mark Brannan with AEB (International) Ltd.  After last November’s attempt by terrorists to ship explosives onboard an aircraft headed for the US, gaps in supply chain security procedures began making international headlines. But behind the highly charged editorials there lurked a clear and unavoidable message: the threat of global terrorism is still a major security risk. And the logistics industry must endeavour to identify and adopt effective security measures that facilitate the speed needed to support global commerce. During the IFW round-table, the industry experts discussed regulatory changes, measures for industry and how to take advantage of compliance matters.

06/2011: Warehousing & Logistics International: Forward-looking logistics for German medical technology manufacturer ERBE Elektromedizin GmbH

Warehousing & Logistics International has published AEB's ERBE success story in their 24th June online publication under the section "Best Practices". ERBE's  entire intralogistical process - from goods receipt to stock putaway, from picking and stock removal to packing, from complete freight document preparation to loading - is mapped by the transport and warehouse management software ASSIST4, developed by AEB. 06/2011: Supply Chain Europe: Trends in Warehouse Management

Supply Chain Europe has publsihed a full article by  Gursh Atwal in their May/June 2011 issue on "Trends in Warehouse Management". Gursh elaborates on the major developments in global warehousing during the past ten years, which have reflected changes in global trade. The biggest change is the emergence of the East - in particular China and India - as the principal manufacturing base for the global economy, serving a  pool of mostly Western customers. The consequence of Western companies choosing to outsource to China and India has been the proliferation of supply chains that cover a much larger geographical area. Gursh details in the 2-page article, what this means for other markets and which shifts have been experienced consequently.

06/2011: IFW: Freight Cost Management Systems - the key to Cost Savings

International Freighting Weekly published Mark Brannan's article "Freight Cost Management Systems - the Key to Cost Savings" in their 3rd June 2011 online edition. As per Gartner Research 2010 and the Aberdeen Group 2008, up to 10% of a company’s average freight costs for procurement and distribution can be saved through transport consolidation and optimisation as well as by the automated selection of the least expensive transport service provider. A further 8% can be saved through a state-of-the art freight management system. In addition to saving costs, adopting an IT solution for freight management is a way of improving business processes and productivity and thereby gaining a competitive advantage.
